Bell case upholding American state-sponsored sterilization, "It is better for all the world, if instead of waiting to execute degenerate offspring for crime or to let them starve for their imbecility, society can prevent those who are manifestly unfit from continuing their kind. The principle that sustains compulsory vaccination is broad enough to cover cutting the Fallopian tubes.... Three generations of imbeciles are enough." Like Roe v. Wade which legalized abortion in America Buck v. Bell has not been overturned.

Truth And Reconciliation Needed, Part 12

Spouses are supposed to be joyous friends and lovers who engage in creative and comforting sex. God is the Creator. Christians are to imitate God who lives inside of us. Creative people cultivate new things, fresh things and old things, familiar things. Matthew 13:52 Amplified Bible says, "He said to them, Therefore every teacher and interpreter of the Sacred Writings who has been instructed about and trained for the kingdom of heaven and has become a disciple is like a householder who brings forth out of his storehouse treasure that is new and [treasure that is] old [the fresh as well as the familiar]."

Love is not suppose to hurt. Romans 13:10 Amplified Bible says, "Love does no wrong to one’s neighbor [it never hurts anybody]. Therefore love meets all the requirements and is the fulfilling of the Law."

Sterilization and rape hurt. A neighbor and North Carolina state raped Elaine Riddick. A neighbor raped Riddick at the age of 13 and threatened to kill her. North Carolina state raped Riddick by sterilizing her without her consent while she was giving birth to her son conceived through rape. Spouses are supposed to be joyous friends and lovers who engage in creative and comforting sex. God is the Creator. Christians are to imitate God who lives inside of us. Creative people cultivate new things, fresh things and old things, familiar things. Matthew 13:52 Amplified Bible says, "He said to them, Therefore every teacher and interpreter of the Sacred Writings who has been instructed about and trained for the kingdom of heaven and has become a disciple is like a householder who brings forth out of his storehouse treasure that is new and [treasure that is] old [the fresh as well as the familiar]."

Love is not suppose to hurt. Romans 13:10 Amplified Bible says, "Love does no wrong to one’s neighbor [it never hurts anybody]. Therefore love meets all the requirements and is the fulfilling of the Law."

Sterilization and rape hurt. A neighbor and North Carolina state raped Elaine Riddick. A neighbor raped Riddick at the age of 13 and threatened to kill her. North Carolina state raped Riddick by sterilizing her without her consent while she was giving birth to her son conceived through rape. When I got my monthly cycle ... it felt like someone had taken a knife and was gutting me .... My menstrual cycle ... wasn't normal because it lasted ... 12 to 15 days at a time, and this happened from the time ... after I had my son from the time I was 14 until I got into my 40s when I eventually did have to have a total hysterectomy."
Riddick said in the CNN interview regarding the psychological pain of her sterilization, "You will never recover from this because it's always there. Every time you wake up when you go to sleep it's there. You think about how you've been treated in this country here. You think about--well me myself I had been so severely damaged until I was on Prozac, Serentil and Haldol, and that's how I coped. I had to wean myself off these things in order for me to cope, and I have to cope, and I have to go on."

When Rafael, who has autism, and I go to restaurants we don't usually see persons with autism, Down's Syndrome, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy and other disabilities. Increasing the wage of service providers to the disabled would help the disabled enjoy restaurants with wait staff. In South Africa Desmond Tutu retired as archbishop to head the Truth and Reconciliation Commission that exposed many of the evils done under apartheid, so that evil may be stopped and good promoted. North Carolina is not the only American state that did state-sponsored sterilizations.
Cindy Trimm says in her book Commanding Your Morning, "Think big and think detailed!.... Become a visionary--be creative. Take the limits off your mind! Think beyond where you are.... Ask God to enlarge your capacity for thinking, to take the limits off." Other American states besides North Carolina and other nations need to apologize to, financially compensate victims and erase all forms of "family planning" evil.
The door to evil has not been closed. US Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes wrote in the 1927 Buck v. Bell case upholding American state-sponsored sterilization, "It is better for all the world, if instead of waiting to execute degenerate offspring for crime or to let them starve for their imbecility, society can prevent those who are manifestly unfit from continuing their kind. The principle that sustains compulsory vaccination is broad enough to cover cutting the Fallopian tubes.... Three generations of imbeciles are enough." Like Roe v. Wade which legalized abortion in America Buck v. Bell has not been overturned.

Truth And Reconciliation Needed, Part 5

Advocates of abortion, sterilization, "family planning" and infanticide want to cancel the sexuality of the disabled, low-income and those not of certain European heritage. Clarence Gamble, MD, heir to the Procter and Gamble fortune, was one key such advocate who was also heavily involved in Planned Parenthood, described people as "hopeless mental cripples" and fought against people pouring "defective genes into the State's blood stream to pollute and degrade future generations" (Better Health Magazine of the North Carolina Social Hygiene Society, October 1947, "Better Human Beings Tomorrow A Doctor Discusses Frankly The Process of Sterilization And Argues For Wider Use Of Sterilization.")
Gamble's thinking helped the establishment of and promotion of "healthcare" facilities and legislation that disrespects people and creates disabilities rather than curing them. In Acts 5 religious leaders sought to stop the apostles from telling people about Jesus Christ. "Then Peter and the apostles replied, We must obey God rather than men (Acts 5:29 Amplified Bible.) Jesus Christ died for sin and to have an eternal relationship with believers. Jesus Christ rose from the dead in three days and wants the good news spread globally. Part of the good news is that God has given believers the power to love Him and people, and He has commanded believers to love.
Killing and maiming innocent people has nothing to do with Biblical love and sexuality. 1 Corinthians 13:6 New Living Translation Bible says about love, "It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out."
Love is active against evil. Chinaaid is speaking out against China's one-child policy. Family planning officials beat up Li Fengfei, forced her to undergo a second-trimester abortion that killed her child and harmed her and are now charging her with a crime! It is not a sin to need a full-time caretaker or some other type of assistance. God has given us the responsibility to provide help according to the abilities He has given us. Truth And Reconciliation Needed, Part 4

Satan does not love people. Satan does not want people to experience joy. Consequently, Satan influences people to misuse sexuality.

Some people in the past and in the present think forcible sterilization is healthcare. One non-profit organization, the Human Betterment League of North Carolina, was founded by Clarence Gamble, M.D., and James Hanes. Aid With Strings Attached
Alice Mae Jackson died in 1969 at age 42 of breast cancer, but her daughter, Henrietta, age 61, is alive and is eligible to collect financial compensation from the state of North Carolina for the forced sterilization inflicted on her mother by government officials in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.
When Alice Mae Jackson was alive she received state aid with strings attached. During one of her reviews for continuance of state aid Alice Mae Jackson took three of her four children -- 2 girls and a boy -- to the Mecklenburg County welfare department. Mecklenburg welfare officials told her to get sterilized or the state would take her children. Later government officials put Henrietta in an orphanage. After Alice Mae Jackson was sterilized she got Henrietta back.
James 1:27 Amplified Bible says, "External religious worship [religion as it is expressed in outward acts] that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the Father is this: to visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction and need, and to keep oneself unspotted and uncontaminated from the world."
Aid is supposed to help people and be unspotted and uncontaminated with worldly strings like forced sterilization. Needing assistance is not shameful. Disabled or non-disabled we all need help in various ways. Chen Guangcheng, who became blind as a result of a childhood illness and now wears dark sunglasses, is a self-taught lawyer from China who helped the disabled win public benefits and aided farmers fighting illegal land seizures. Chen Guangcheng became internationally known for filing a 2005 class-action law suit against Chinese government officials for forced abortions and forced sterilizations practiced as part of China’s one-child policy. Later he endured physical and psychological abuse in jail and in house arrest. Chen Guangcheng was in house arrest with his wife, Yuan Weijing, and the couple's daughter. Their son was being "educated." Eventually the Chen family escaped to the United States. Chen Guangcheng, a US immigrant, testified before Congress on April 9, 2013, regarding human rights abuses in China.
Human rights violations such as abortion and forced sterilization are not God's will. God wants people to enjoy living. God the Son Jesus Christ says in John 10:10 Amplified Bible, "The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)."
Most parents want their children to enjoy living. The daughter that Alice Mae Jackson did not take to her public assistance review, she had placed with other family.
Later on in life Henrietta met this daughter whose name is Sheila. They met as employees of a nursing home.

North Carolina is scheduled to pay $10 million shared equally to victims of forced sterilization. If those forcibly sterilized are dead, the family's estate is eligible for compensation. Forced sterilization was legal in North Carolina based on a 1933 law that allowed government workers to forcibly sterilize people deemed to be 'mentally diseased, feeble-minded or epileptic.' In Oklahoma earlier this year Governor Mary Fallin signed into law the Nondiscrimination in Treatment Act which takes effect November 1 and is modeled after anti-discriminatory language in federal law. The law, the first of its kind to be signed into law in the United States of America, will prevent health care providers like those connected to nursing homes from denying food, water and other assistance "on the basis of a view that treats extending the life of an elderly, disabled, or terminally ill individual as of lower value than extending the life of an individual who is younger, nondisabled, or not terminally ill."

Covert Takeover?
In the Bible book of Jeremiah God tells His creyentes (believers) that they were doing many evil things in not worshiping God properly some of which were killing innocent people, mistreating employees and mistreating immigrants. God does not want well treated people or mistreated people to mistreat others. Galatians 5:14 Amplified Bible says, "For the whole Law [concerning human relationships] is complied with in the one precept, You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself."
Ebed-Melech was an Ethiopian immigrant, government worker and creyente. Even though he had been sterilized, Ebed-Melech helped save the life of the Jewish prophet Jeremiah by advocating for his release from a particularly bad prison. Leading government officials did not want to hear and heed the truth that Jeremiah spoke about impending trouble and a difficult but definite way of surviving; so they put Jeremiah in jail.
Angel Moya was put in jail because the Cuban government didn't want to hear what he was saying. His wife Berta Soler as part of the group Las Damas de Blanco (Ladies in White) helped to free him and other political prisoners from jail. Las Damas de Blanco (Ladies in White) is a Cuban human-rights organization formed by the wives and mothers of 75 dissidents jailed in a 2003 government crackdown on political opponents. They participate in a weekly march and in weekly attendance at Mass dressed in white to encourage the Cuban government to free all political prisoners.
Soler became the head of Las Damas de Blanco after the death of Laura Pollan. Pollan is Las Damas de Blanco's founder and head who died of injuries inflicted on her because of her advocacy for freedom.
Soler and her family did not accept the Cuban government's offer to some Cuban dissidents to move to Spain. Soler currently lives in Cuba and is fighting for the Cuban people's freedom and the end of communism. Communism is not compatible with the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness because it is a system of government controlling people's lives rooted in the spirit of fear.
Love overcomes the spirit of fear. Cuba is a communist country. China is a communist country that has a one-child policy with government permission required for pregnancy, forced abortion, forced sterilization, huge fines for conceiving unauthorized boys and girls and other means of fear. Communist officials claim the one-child policy is good for people. A Chinese proverb says, "Pointing to a deer and calling it a horse," meaning, "Right and wrong are deliberately mixed up." Abortion is currently legal in America; until 2003 in North Carolina people the government deemed to be 'mentally diseased, feeble-minded or epileptic' could legally be forcibly sterilized. Legal But Not Moral
As a teenager Elaine Riddick lived in North Carolina in a two-bedroom house with her grandmother, who was affectionately called Miss Peaches. One day when the 13-year-old was walking home, a neighbor raped her and threatened to kill her if she refused to keep silent about the rape.
North Carolina state government workers also threatened Miss Peaches and Elaine Riddick. Government workers told Miss Peaches, who couldn't read, that if she wanted to continue to receive welfare benefits including food stamps that she must sign a form that gave the government permission to sterilize Riddick. When Riddick gave birth to her only child, a son named Tony Riddick, by cesarean section, she was also sterilized. Riddick did not find out that she had been sterilized until she was 19 and was told by North Carolina government authorities that her sterilization was done because Riddick was deemed mentally retarded and promiscuous and to stop the reproduction of such people.
What happened to Elaine Riddick, Tony Riddick and Miss Peaches was not moral, but it was legal. A 1933 North Carolina state law authorized the sterilization of people deemed to be 'mentally diseased, feeble-minded or epileptic.' It was not until 2003 that North Carolina made it illegal to forcibly sterilize people (NBC News, "State of Shame," November 2011.) Thirty-two US states practiced eugenics programs before and/or after World War II that included forced sterilization of those considered mentally and/or physically inferior.
Irregardless of what mental and/or physical abilities or disabilities we have, God loves us and desires wholeness and wellness for us spirit, mind and body. When someone is in a difficult situation desiring help God does not try to "solve" difficulties by killing people; instead He desires to heal people. In Luke 10 Jesus Christ shares the story of a Samaritan who participated in the healing of a man who had been robbed and beaten, and He teaches us to do likewise.
"You can't put a price on someone taking your womb or castrating you, it's humiliating,” Elaine Riddick told NBC News. Money helps to pay for physical and mental healthcare and other needs and wants. "I tip my hat to North Carolina,” she also told NBC News regarding the $10 million to be divided equally among victims of the former North Carolina eugenics program; “Finally they came to their senses and decided to do what's right.”
Un dicho (a proverb) says, "Amor primero, amor postrero" (Love, first and last.") All creyentes (believers) are called to be good Samaritans which is being a good neighbor in the Matthew 22:36-40 way: "Teacher, which kind of commandment is great and important (the principal kind) in the Law? [Some commandments are light—which are heavy?] And He replied to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (intellect). This is the great (most important, principal) and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself. These two commandments sum up and upon them depend all the Law and the Prophets."
ChinaAid, Women's Rights of China and US Congressman Chris Smith acted as good neighbors to Li Fu, Cao Ruyi and Li Dahai who live in China. When Cao Ruyi was five months pregnant she was forcibly taken to a hospital to have an abortion because she did not have the proper paper to have a child. No hospital bed was available. Her abortion was delayed enough for ChinaAid, Women's Rights of China and US Congressman Chris Smith to intervene. Cao Ruyi gave birth in a secret place to the married couple's only child, a son named Li Dahai, which means "our help came from overseas."

North Carolina state government workers also threatened Miss Peaches and Elaine Riddick. Government workers told Miss Peaches, who couldn't read, that if she wanted to continue to receive welfare benefits including food stamps that she must sign a form that gave the government permission to sterilize Riddick. When Riddick gave birth to her only child, a son named Tony Riddick, by cesarean section, she was also sterilized. Riddick did not find out that she had been sterilized until she was 19 and was told by North Carolina government authorities that her sterilization was done because Riddick was deemed mentally retarded and promiscuous and to stop the reproduction of such people.
What happened to Elaine Riddick, Tony Riddick and Miss Peaches was not moral, but it was legal. A 1933 North Carolina state law authorized the sterilization of people deemed to be 'mentally diseased, feeble-minded or epileptic.' It was not until 2003 that North Carolina made it illegal to forcibly sterilize people (NBC News, "State of Shame," November 2011.) Thirty-two US states practiced eugenics programs before and/or after World War II that included forced sterilization of those considered mentally and/or physically inferior.
Irregardless of what mental and/or physical abilities or disabilities we have, God loves us and desires wholeness and wellness for us spirit, mind and body. When someone is in a difficult situation desiring help God does not try to "solve" difficulties by killing people; instead He desires to heal people. In Luke 10 Jesus Christ shares the story of a Samaritan who participated in the healing of a man who had been robbed and beaten, and He teaches us to do likewise.
"You can't put a price on someone taking your womb or castrating you, it's humiliating,” Elaine Riddick told NBC News. Money helps to pay for physical and mental healthcare and other needs and wants. "I tip my hat to North Carolina,” she also told NBC News regarding the $10 million to be divided equally among victims of the former North Carolina eugenics program; “Finally they came to their senses and decided to do what's right.”
Un dicho (a proverb) says, "Amor primero, amor postrero" (Love, first and last.") All creyentes (believers) are called to be good Samaritans which is being a good neighbor in the Matthew 22:36-40 way: "Teacher, which kind of commandment is great and important (the principal kind) in the Law? ChinaAid, Women's Rights of China and US Congressman Chris Smith acted as good neighbors to Li Fu, Cao Ruyi and Li Dahai who live in China. When Cao Ruyi was five months pregnant she was forcibly taken to a hospital to have an abortion because she did not have the proper paper to have a child. No hospital bed was available. Her abortion was delayed enough for ChinaAid, Women's Rights of China and US Congressman Chris Smith to intervene. Cao Ruyi gave birth in a secret place to the married couple's only child, a son named Li Dahai, which means "our help came from overseas."

You Make Us Better?

"Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 New Living Translation Bible.) 1 John 4:10-11 Amplified Bible says, "In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins. Beloved, if God loved us so [very much], we also ought to love one another."

Generosity Or Greed?
The right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are Christian ideals that are rooted in the love of God and stated in the American Declaration of Independence. Gospel Singer Anita Wilson sings in the song "Shower The People" on her album Worship Soul, "Just shower the people you love with love. Show them the way that you feel. Things are goin' work out fine if you only will do as I say. Shower the people you love with love. Show them the way that you feel. Things are goin' to be much better if you only will."
God loves His friends and His foes and wants His creyentes (believers) to also love friends and foes. Some foes turn out to be friends.
America is filled with creyentes, but sometimes in America's past and present we have had trouble loving people like God does. The 1913 California Alien Land Law prevented people who were not citizens or not eligible to become citizens from owing land. At the time most Asian Americans were prevented by law from becoming citizens.
Un dicho (a proverb) says, "Que lindo es vivir para amar; que grande es tener para dar" ("How beautiful it is to live and love; how great it is to have and give.") Jesus Christ warns us against greediness when He says in Luke 12:15 New Living Translation, "...“Beware! Guard against every kind of greed. Life is not measured by how much you own.”"
God teaches us to be generous to the oppressed and others. Some people leave their country because of hostility at home. Actor and Activist Christian Bale attempted unsuccessfully in 2011 to visit Chen Guangcheng, a human-rights lawyer, in China when Chen Guangcheng was under house arrest for filing a 2005 class-action lawsuit against officials involved in forced abortions and forced sterilizations practiced as part of China's one-child policy. Chen Guangcheng left China in May 2012 and is now living in America. Christian Bale said when presenting Chen Guangcheng with a human rights award at the annual gala of Human Rights First, "He [Chen] had exposed a program of forced abortion and sterilization in Shandong. A program of forced abortion means that women are being dragged from their homes against their will. They are being forced to have abortions, sometimes late-term -- imagine that -- with some women reportedly dying in the process. Now this is true horror. And in this insane world, this man, Chen, who was helping these women -- who was living by some of the most simple, brave and universally admired values -- values that we teach our children every day, and helping our fellow man -- for this, this man was imprisoned and beaten for over four years."
God wants us spiritually, mentally, physically, financially -- in all ways -- to be like Him now and eternally. Pray for change in China. Pray also for countries globally to pass immigration, abortion and other laws that love a diversity of people. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 Amplified Bible says, "First of all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men, For kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way. For such [praying] is good and right, and [it is] pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior, Who wishes all men to be saved and [increasingly] to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and correctly the [divine] Truth."

Balanced, Beautiful, Biblical Living
Hebrews 13:20-21 Amplified Bible says, "Now may the God of peace [Who is the Author and the Giver of peace], Who brought again from among the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood [that sealed, ratified] the everlasting agreement (covenant, testament), Strengthen (complete, perfect) and make you what you ought to be and equip you with everything good that you may carry out His will; [while He Himself] works in you and accomplishes that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ (the Messiah); to Whom be the glory forever and ever (to the ages of the ages). Amen (so be it)." God wants all good things for His creyentes (believers). Former Mexican President Benito Juarez said, "The respect for the rights of others is peace."
Slavery and peace are incompatible. June 19th is Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day in the United States of America. Juneteenth is a celebration of the end of African-American slavery in the United States of America.
On June 18, 2013, the United States House of Representatives voted in favor of H.R. 1797 the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act which puts a national prohibition on abortions of unborn girls and unborn boys aged 20 weeks and older. The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act respects the rights of the unborn who are people too deserving of peace, freedom and other good gifts from God.
God knows how to give good gifts. In addition to giving creyentes eternal life, God gave creyentes sabbaths to worship Him and to keep economic activity as a balanced part of our lives instead of consuming our lives. One sabbath God gave lasts for one year in the Old Testament. The Old Testament is a foreshadow of better things to come in the New Testament. Dads, moms, children, singles and everyone benefits when a one-year-and-more of paid leave is a global employment reality. Biblical living is beautiful, balanced living.
The Chinese invented the toothbrush. A clean mouth promotes dental health, beautiful teeth and fresh breath. May we be cleansed from the unhealthy, ugly disrespect of people through slavery, abortion and excessive economic work. May we celebrate God and the good life He gave us.

Children Are People Too
Wong Kim Ark was born in San Francisco, California, to parents who were Chinese immigrants. He decided to take a trip to China in 1895. When he came back to the United States, he was told that the laws didn't allow Chinese immigrants re-entry into the United States. Wong Kim Ark wasn't an immigrant.
He took his case to the U.S. Supreme Court which in 1898 ruled that children born of immigrants in the United States are automatically US citizens.
Creyentes (believers) are reinas y reyes (queens and kings). We are called to stand up for justice. Proverbs 31:8 Amplified Bible says, "Open your mouth for the dumb [those unable to speak for themselves], for the rights of all who are left desolate and defenseless."
Even before children are born they are people. On Christmas of 1967, Martin Luther King, Jr. preached the following words: "Now let me say that the next thing we must be concerned about if we are to have peace on earth and good will toward men is the nonviolent affirmation of the sacredness of all human life. Every man is somebody because he is a child of God…Man is more than a tiny vagary of whirling electrons or a wisp of smoke from a limitless smoldering. Man is a child of God, made in His image, and therefore must be respected as such….And when we truly believe in the sacredness of human personality, we won't exploit people, we won't trample over people with the iron feet of oppression, we won't kill anybody."
Righting the wrongs done to immigrants, the unborn, parents and other people is a process. Some pieces of the process are to be informed about legislation and to pass good legislation. Anything Is Possible
In Mark chapter 9 of the Bible the story of a father who had a son with a dumb spirit that no one could cure is recorded. The father had sought various people to cure his son including Jesus Christ. Mark 9:23 Amplified Bible says, "And Jesus said, [You say to Me], If You can do anything? [Why,] all things can be (are possible) to him who believes!"
Jesus Christ was willing to heal his son, and He healed him.

People have been trying to get rid of this policy and other human rights violations in China for a long time, and some still expect to see human rights flourishing in China.

Courage And Common Sense
Courage should be coupled with common sense. After Frederick Douglass published his book Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass in 1845, Douglass sent his former slave owner, Thomas Auld, a copy of the book.
The Chinese invented the umbrella. Sometimes we need our friends to cover our courage, so that a bad situation doesn't rain on us.
Friends helped Douglass to get out of the United States and to seek refuge in England, which had abolished slavery in 1807.
By 1846 friends purchased Douglass' freedom from Thomas Auld. They also gave Douglass money to start an anti-slavery newspaper. By 1847 Douglass published the North Star. Former president and friend of Abraham Lincoln Benito Juarez said, "The respect for the rights of others is peace." The North Star was not only concerned with the rights of African Americans. Douglass' friends could have spent their money on something other than purchasing Douglass' freedom and his newspaper. To have chosen to spend their money elsewhere would have probably meant that Douglass would be returned to slavery, separated from his wife and children, unable to provide for them economically and an international voice of inspiration for human rights would have been silenced.
Is God telling you to help someone?
Instead of making excuses, why not consider all the ways good could come out of it, and do what God says to do. A Japanese proverb says, "Do quickly what is good."
The Chinese invented the umbrella. Sometimes we need our friends to cover our courage, so that a bad situation doesn't rain on us.
Friends helped Douglass to get out of the United States and to seek refuge in England, which had abolished slavery in 1807.
By 1846 friends purchased Douglass' freedom from Thomas Auld. They also gave Douglass money to start an anti-slavery newspaper. By 1847 Douglass published the North Star. Former president and friend of Abraham Lincoln Benito Juarez said, "The respect for the rights of others is peace." The North Star was not only concerned with the rights of African Americans. Is Anyone Safe In China?
Reverend Desmond Tutu of South Africa writes in An African Prayer Book, "...we are made to live in a delicate network of interdependence with one another, with God and with the rest of God's creation. We say in our African idiom: "A person is a person through other persons." A solitary human being is a contradiction in terms. A totally self-sufficient human being is ultimately subhuman. We are made for complementarity. I have gifts that you do not; and you have gifts that I do not. Voila! So we need each other to become fully human."
One of the ways that Tutu is trying to complement humanity is by serving as Honorary Co-Chair of Freedom Now. Jared Genser, Freedom Now pro-bono counsel for Chen Kegui, sent an April 29, 2013, letter to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture, seeking medical treatment for the appendicitis of Chen Kegui who is in Linyi Prison following a trial "that failed to meet international standards for due process" and an arrest close to the time that Kegui's uncle, human rights activist Chen Guangcheng escaped China.
In 2005 Chen Guangcheng filed a class action lawsuit against local government officials practicing forced abortions and forced sterilizations as part of China's one child policy. Guangcheng suffered time in Linyin Prison and house arrest before escaping house arrest. Then the United States and China negotiated Chen Guangcheng coming to America in spring 2012.
Speaking about China's one child policy in a video released in December 2012 to mark Human Rights Day Chen Guangcheng says, "It is a sin, because life is sacred."
China's one child policy is anti-life, anti-family as are all policies that permit abortion and involuntary sterilization. In addition to the baby boys and baby girls killed by abortion, Tonya Reaves, Christin Gilbert, Jennifer Morbelli, Denise Montoya are some American women killed by botched abortions. Maria Santiago is another woman recently killed at an abortion clinic. Some people are trying to preserve and to promote life. Husband and wife Du Yiliang and Guo Yanling and their three children are refugees in Thailand who would like to live safely in their homeland China, but can't due to China's one child policy. Is anyone safe in China? In 1995 when Guo Yanling was eight months pregnant, she was forced to undergo an abortion. In 1999 she was forcibly sterilized. In 2006 Guo Yanling was imprisoned for not being able to pay a fine for having more than one child. Du Yiliang's and Guo Yanling's three children cannot attend school or receive government benefits because the unpaid fine is used as a block to obtaining household registrations for their three children. The household registrations allow children to attend school and to receive government benefits. Du Yiliang's and Guo Yangling's family experience is typical in China. Having the opportunity to live in equality, freedom, justice, safety and love are God's desire for us. God wants what is good for us. The devil (the thief) wants what is bad. The devil is the author, maintainer and promoter of China's one child policy and abortion and involuntary sterilization globally. Jesus Christ says in John 10:10 Amplified Bible, "The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)."
Let's kick the devil off the planet. Embrace God and people.

Overcoming the What Ifs
The Apostle Paul says in 2 Timothy 1:7-8 Amplified Bible, "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. Do not blush or be ashamed then, to testify to and for our Lord, nor of me, a prisoner for His sake, but [with me] take your share of the suffering [to which the preaching] of the Gospel [may expose you, and do it] in the power of God."
One of the things the spirit of fear does is it attacks our mind with the "what ifs." About one year ago Chen Guangcheng, a blind, self-taught lawyer, escaped house arrest in Shandong, China, walking at night for several miles until he met up with He Peirong, who drove him to the US embassy in Beijing, China. Guangcheng probably got attacked with the thought, "What if I get caught? How will the Chinese authorities harm me?"
Harriet Tubman probably also had times in her life when she was attacked with the what ifs. Harriet Tubman started out as Harriet Ross born into slavery in Maryland. As a teenager, a slave overseer hit Harriet in the head with a lead brick because she was blocking his throw to stop another slave trying to escape slavery. Harriet was hit so hard that she became unconscious. The hit did lifetime damage. From that time on she suffered seizures and uncontrollable sleeping spells. Having a disability didn't mean that Harriet wanted to remain a slave. When she thought about escaping slavery, what if thoughts probably came to her mind like, "What if I run away and get caught by slave catchers and their bloodhounds? Will I be whipped? Will I be sold further South? Will I fall asleep or have a seizure at the worst possible moment?"
Some parents today decide to have prenatal testing. They may be thinking thoughts like, "What if the test determines that our baby has a disability like Down syndrome? What if the pregnancy is carried to term? How long will I be a parent? How am I going to afford this? What happens when I die? What will people think and say about a disabled child? How will they treat us?"
Fear comes to all of us. What does God say to do with it? "Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9 Amplified Bible) When fear attacked Chen Guangcheng, he still moved to escape house arrest inflicted on him by Chinese authorities for filing a 2005 class action lawsuit against local officials involved in forced abortions and forced sterilizations practiced as part of China's one child policy. When fear attacked Harriet Tubman, she still moved to escape slavery via the Underground Railroad (a network of people who helped runaway African American slaves find freedom in non-slave American states or in Canada.) Some parents instead of choosing to abort their child who may or may not have a disability, choose life and celebrate it. Sarah and Todd Palin have a son who has Down Syndrome. Their car bumper sticker says, "My kid has more chromosomes than your kid."
Creyentes (believers) are reinas y reyes (kings and queens). We are not called to be intimidated by adversity. We are called to press through adversity overcoming evil with good. Philippians 1:28-29 Amplified Bible says, "And do not [for a moment] be frightened or intimidated in anything by your opponents and adversaries, for such [constancy and fearlessness] will be a clear sign (proof and seal) to them of [their impending] destruction, but [a sure token and evidence] of your deliverance and salvation, and that from God. For you have been granted [the privilege] for Christ’s sake not only to believe in (adhere to, rely on, and trust in) Him, but also to suffer in His behalf."
Chen Guangcheng is still speaking out about human rights abuses in China while his family in Shandong, China is being persecuted by Chinese authorities. Chen Guangcheng, Yuan Weijing, Guangcheng's wife, and Bob Fu, founder and president of ChinaAid, are currently in Europe meeting with governmental authorities and human rights organizations to shine the light on China's human rights abuses. Harriet Tubman not only escaped slavery for herself, she also successfully lead hundreds of slaves to freedom via the Underground Railroad. Some parents are not only choosing life for their unborn babies, they are also working to make it illegal to kill people just because they have or may have a disability.
The spirit of fear seeks to get us to cooperate with evil and to focus on failure/difficulty or potential failure/difficulty. No one has a totally successful easy life. Having failures and difficulties are not reasons to faint. For creyentes, our destination is a now and eternal relationship with a good, loving God. A Yoruba of Nigeria proverb says, "One should keep one's eyes on one's destination, not on where one stumbled."

Stirring Up Timely Trouble
Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela's tribal name "Rolihlahla" means "to stir up trouble." He lived up to his name by becoming South Africa's first democratically elected president and ushering out apartheid, which treated blacks, Asians and other people of color as lesser than European-heritage people.
Chen Guangcheng is not from South Africa, but he has stirred up trouble in his native China. Guangcheng became internationally known for filing a 2005 law suit against a local government for forced abortions and forced sterilizations practiced as part of China’s one-child policy. Later he endured physical and psychological abuse in jail and in house arrest. Eventually he escaped to the United States through negotiations between the US State Department and Chinese authorities.
Chinese authorities are still upset about the trouble Guangcheng has continued to stir up. On April 9, 2013, Guangcheng testified before a subcommittee of the U.S. House Committee On Foreign Affairs about his family's and other people's persecution in China and other ongoing human rights abuses in China. Guangcheng gave Congress a list of Chinese officials involved in forced abortions and forced sterilizations. Some testimony is still being translated from Chinese to English.
Pastor Bob Fu, founder and president of China Aid, also testified at the subcommittee hearing. He cited some cases of forced abortion and forced sterilization in China. Fu said:
"On March 13, a woman Henan province (Daxuzhaitown, Taikang county) who had had a forced abortion was found hanged at the local family planning office with suspicious injuries all over her body. On March 19, a mother of two in Hubei province (Tongshan county) named Shen Hongxia was forced by local family planning officials to have a tubal ligation against doctors orders that led to her death. On March 22, a woman in her seventh month of pregnancy in Anhui province (Chuzhou, Fengyang county) was kidnapped by family planning cadres and taken to a hospital where a lethal injection was given that killed her seven-month-old unborn baby and caused her to deliver a dead fetus. China Aid has interviewed the husband of this woman and has offered to help them."
In October 2012 Actor and Activist Christian Bale presented Chen Guangcheng with an award at the annual gala of Human Rights First. Bale said, "He [Chen] had exposed a program of forced abortion and sterilization in Shandong. A program of forced abortion means that women are being dragged from their homes against their will. They are being forced to have abortions, sometimes late-term -- imagine that -- with some women reportedly dying in the process. Now this is true horror. And in this insane world, this man, Chen, who was helping these women -- who was living by some of the most simple, brave and universally admired values -- values that we teach our children every day, and helping our fellow man -- for this, this man was imprisoned and beaten for over four years."
China does not operate by rule of law. Chinese authorities do what they like irregardless of laws. Guangcheng's nephew, Chen Kegui, has been in jail after using knives to fend off local officials who burst into Kegui's home after Guangcheng's escape. Kegui is married to Liu Fang. The couple have a young son, Chen Fubin. An April 29, 2013, letter by Freedom Now to the United Nation's Special Rapporteur on Torture says in part:
"Chen Kegui is currently suffering from appendicitis, and although prison authorities may have administered intravenous antibiotics, he is in severe pain, has been denied access to a doctor, and has not been taken to a hospital despite reports that his appendix has begun to rupture.
Chen Kegui, 33, was detained by Chinese authorities shortly after his uncle, a prominent human rights advocate, escaped from illegal house arrest and sought refuge at the United States Embassy in Beijing. On April 27, 2012, police, local party officials, and government thugs stormed the family's home and arrested Chen Kegui's father, Chen Guangfu, beating and interrogating him about Chen Guangcheng's whereabouts. Authorities returned to the home and savagely beat Chen Kegui and his mother, Ren Zongju. When Chen Kegui attempted to defend himself from the intruders, a local party official was injured. After disappearing Chen Kegui for a number of days, the government formally arrested him in early May and ultimately sentenced him to three years and three months in prison on November 30, 2012, after a trial that failed to meet international standards for due process."
Luke 1:37 Complete Jewish Bible says, "For with God, nothing is impossible.” God impregnated a virgin without using male sperm. Since God did this, surely He can answer prayers for Chen Kegui, the Chen family and for the end to China's one-child policy which includes forced abortions and forced sterilizations and for an end to abortion everywhere.
According to Financial Times, the Chinese Health Ministry reported that since 1971, 196 million sterilizations and 336 abortions have been performed in China. Many of these are involuntary. In the January 2011 document, “Abortion Statistics: United States Data and Trends,” National Right to Life Committee Education Director Dr. Randall K. O’Bannon estimates that there have been 54,559,615 abortions since the January 22, 1973, Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion based on data from both the Centers for Disease Control and the Guttmacher Institute, a former Planned Parenthood research arm. The analysis also found that the best estimate for the current number of annual abortions in the United States — involving both the surgical abortion procedure as well as the abortion drug RU 486 — is 1.2 million. Adding another year of 1.2 million abortions to the 2011 total National Right to Life estimated based on Guttmacher and CDC figures, there have been 55,772.015 abortions in America since Roe v. Wade. Another way to look at the statistics is to say that in America every 30 seconds a baby loses his or her life through abortion.

The rights of the unborn and the born of all ages are not being respected in China or America. Don't agree to be silent and slack about fighting to end abortion, involuntary sterilization and other human rights abuses. A Japanese proverb says, "Do quickly what is good." "Chen Kegui is currently suffering from appendicitis, and although prison authorities may have administered intravenous antibiotics, he is in severe pain, has been denied access to a doctor, and has not been taken to a hospital despite reports that his appendix has begun to rupture.
Chen Kegui, 33, was detained by Chinese authorities shortly after his uncle, a prominent human rights advocate, escaped from illegal house arrest and sought refuge at the United States Embassy in Beijing. On April 27, 2012, police, local party officials, and government thugs stormed the family's home and arrested Chen Kegui's father, Chen Guangfu, beating and interrogating him about Chen Guangcheng's whereabouts. Authorities returned to the home and savagely beat Chen Kegui and his mother, Ren Zongju. When Chen Kegui attempted to defend himself from the intruders, a local party official was injured. After disappearing Chen Kegui for a number of days, the government formally arrested him in early May and ultimately sentenced him to three years and three months in prison on November 30, 2012, after a trial that failed to meet international standards for due process."

Since God did this, surely He can answer prayers for Chen Kegui, the Chen family and for the end to China's one-child policy which includes forced abortions and forced sterilizations and for an end to abortion everywhere.
According to Financial Times, the Chinese Health Ministry reported that since 1971, 196 million sterilizations and 336 abortions have been performed in China. Many of these are involuntary. O’Bannon estimates that there have been 54,559,615 abortions since the January 22, 1973, Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion based on data from both the Centers for Disease Control and the Guttmacher Institute, a former Planned Parenthood research arm. The analysis also found that the best estimate for the current number of annual abortions in the United States — involving both the surgical abortion procedure as well as the abortion drug RU 486 — is 1.2 million. Adding another year of 1.2 million abortions to the 2011 total National Right to Life estimated based on Guttmacher and CDC figures, there have been 55,772.015 abortions in America since Roe v. Wade. Another way to look at the statistics is to say that in America every 30 seconds a baby loses his or her life through abortion.

The rights of the unborn and the born of all ages are not being respected in China or America. Don't agree to be silent and slack about fighting to end abortion, involuntary sterilization and other human rights abuses. A Japanese proverb says, "Do quickly what is good." Elderly And Able To Work For Good
"Yet despite the overall aging of the work force, many organizations are heading in the opposite direction. One executive at a major investment bank remarked with concern that the average age of his firm was 32. This phenomenon is not unique to corporations. Many medical institutions and universities have also shifted to younger workforces. But according to research by Benjamin Jones of Northwestern University, a 55-year-old and even a 65-year-old have significantly more innovation potential than a 25-year-old.
If an organization wants innovation to flourish, the conversation needs to change from severance packages to retention bonuses. Instead of managing the average age downward, companies should be managing it upward," writes Tom Agan for The New York Times article "Why Innovators Get Better With Age."
The Bible does not endorse retiring at age 62 or any other age. Some of the greatest Biblical leaders were elderly people like Moses, Abraham and Joshua. Abolitionist, Women's Rights Activist and Christian Sojourner Truth was giving speeches in her 80s.
Discrimination against the elderly is not the Bible way. The Bible way is periodic rest, not permanent removal from the workforce.
God teaches us to work well and rest well. The Gospel books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are filled with stories of Jesus Christ challenging His Jewish people to practice the Sabbath in a way that provides maximum help for people. Mark 2:27 Contemporary English Version Bible says, "Jesus finished by saying, “People were not made for the good of the Sabbath. The Sabbath was made for the good of people."
Leviticus 25:3-7 New Living Translation says, "For six years you may plant your fields and prune your vineyards and harvest your crops, but during the seventh year the land must have a Sabbath year of complete rest. It is the Lord’s Sabbath. Do not plant your fields or prune your vineyards during that year. And don’t store away the crops that grow on their own or gather the grapes from your unpruned vines. The land must have a year of complete rest. But you may eat whatever the land produces on its own during its Sabbath. This applies to you, your male and female servants, your hired workers, and the temporary residents who live with you. Your livestock and the wild animals in your land will also be allowed to eat what the land produces."

Calment lived two years longer than Moses, but not as long as Abraham who died at the ripe old age of 175.

Eventually he escaped to the United States and testified before Congress on April 9, 2013, regarding human rights abuses in China.

One can be outspoken and sexually victorious. Christopher Yuan is in his 40s. He is also no longer practicing homosexuality. Yuan is a Christian speaker for life and other Biblical issues.
