Focus

How is it possible to kill by abortion more than 336 million people and to sterilize more than 222 million people since 1971 in China? How is it possible to kill by abortion more than 55 million people in America since 1973 and to sterilize more than 60,000? One part of the answer is that it's necessary to "educate" as many people as possible to think that evil is good.

Satan, the devil, sometimes pretends to be gentle and good to confuse people into embracing evil as good.

Recently I was reading a book that described China's one-child policy as "highly effective." A confused mind describes as "highly effective" killing baby boys and baby girls via abortion and sterilizing women and men all accompanied with government compulsion on parents to pay for these acts.

1 Corinthians 13:7 Amplified Bible says, "Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]." Love does not focus on sin and difficult circumstances. Love focuses on God first then people. A Twi African proverb says, "Love is the greatest of all virtues." Matthew 22:36-40 Amplified Bible says, "Teacher, which kind of commandment is great and important (the principal kind) in the Law? [Some commandments are light—which are heavy?] And He replied to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (intellect). This is the great (most important, principal) and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself. These two commandments sum up and upon them depend all the Law and the Prophets."

God is Love. Obey Love. Disobey the devil. Love sees the potential in people. The devil sees people as worthless and hopeless; the devil seeks opportunities to create problems for people, accuse them of sin and kill them.

God does not ignore sin and difficulties. God sees all reality and is still willing and able to love. Before the healing of a son with mental and physical disabilities Mark 9:23 Amplified Bible says, "And Jesus said, [You say to Me], If You can do anything? [Why,] all things can be (are possible) to him who believes!"

When a father brought his son who had mental and physical disabilities to God the Son Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ did not sterilize, starve or separate the father and/or son. Instead Jesus Christ healed the son who had mental and physical disabilities and didn't hold his sins or his father's sins and difficult circumstances against them.

A Spanish saying is, "God will provide the means." God is a healer and a problem solver, not a people accuser and people killer. Imitate God. Ephesians 4:3-5:2 Amplified Bible says, "Be eager and strive earnestly to guard and keep the harmony and oneness of [and produced by] the Spirit in the binding power of peace. Therefore be imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]. And walk in love, [esteeming and delighting in one another] as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us, a slain offering and sacrifice to God [for you, so that it became] a sweet fragrance."

Jesus Christ died and rose from the dead in three days getting back all that Satan stole from people. Satan has no potential for good. Jesus Christ is sterilizing, starving and separating Satan and his kingdom of darkness, so that God's love and goodness will reign in all the universe. What are some ways you on purpose focus on love instead of sin and difficult circumstances? Write to:

Think Big And Beautiful

God wants us to have a relationship with Him. God does not want us to be ashamed. He wants us to be assured that He loves us and in our thoughts, speech and behavior we can show people God.

A Yoruba of Nigeria proverb says, "One should keep one's eyes on one's destination, not on where one stumbled." No human being can be perfect. We can be pursuing God passionately.

John 10:10 Amplified Bible says, "The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows)." God wants us to have a big, beautiful life filled with love and all of His goodness. Satan hates all people and has opposite desires for people.

Sometimes we have not sinned. Satan wants us to think we have sinned and get stuck on these harmful thoughts. Satan is also a liar with multiple ways to try to destroy people.

God commands His creyentes (believers) to love Him and people. God didn't give us excuses to do wrong. God gave us Himself to live inside creyentes, and God is everywhere. So creyentes have what it takes to love.

Ending abortion and implementing immigration reform are some big, beautiful  ideas. Truly big and beautiful ideas come from the Bible. What are some big, beautiful Biblical ideas currently expressed in your relationships? Write to:

Enlightened Sex

Ethiopian Queen Sheba said about wisdom in Kebra Negast (Glory of Kings), "I received a lamp which lighteth me." God Himself is Wisdom, and God gives His creyentes (believers) wisdom. Wisdom shows us the way to live wonderfully.

One quality does not define God. One quality does not define creyentes.

Some like to limit sexuality to genitals. However, God is limitless. God suggests sexuality is limitless in Genesis 1:27 by connecting sexuality to Himself. Sexual human beings are like God. Genesis 1:27 Amplified Bible says, "So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them."

Christopher Yuan and Angela Yuan wrote a book Out Of A Far Country A gay son's journey to God. A broken mother's search for hope. Christopher Yuan indicated in a speech at Yale University, "Some people believe that sexual orientation is innate and fixed, however, sexual orientation develops across a person's lifetime."

The more we interact with God and grow in our relationship with Him, the more He reveals Himself and ourselves including our sexuality. Learning to live wonderfully is a life-time process that starts with a relationship with God. John 4:24 Amplified Bible says, "God is a Spirit (a spiritual Being) and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (reality)."

It's a mistake to try to segregate sexuality from spirituality. The qualities of God are integrated and intense. God is not a lukewarm person. God is also a perfect personality. We cannot be perfect, but through God and the Bible He gave us, we can mature enjoying the good and leaving out the evil.

Are the most spiritual people also the most sexual? Write to:

Stop Excluding People. Reform Immigration Now!

1 Peter 2:9 New Living Translation Bible says, "But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light." God wants creyentes (believers) to do good like He does good. God also wants creyentes to enjoy the best of this earthly life without idolizing things or people.

One good thing to have is citizenship. The Apostle Paul, a Jew who had Roman citizenship, wrote most of the New Testament. African Americans gained American citizenship via the 14th amendment to the US constitution. Rafael Damani Fowler and I are African Americans, and we value and enjoy our US citizenship.

We also pray that as our legislature is considering immigration reform that many others who are currently being denied US citizenship but value and desire to enjoy it will be granted US citizenship. Diversity in America is good for Americans and people globally. Diversity in America is a world witness as America is the world's leading nation.

Nick Vujicic is of Serbian heritage but born in Australia. Later in life he moved to the United States of America. Vujicic was born without arms and legs not because of a botched abortion but because of tetra-amelia syndrome. Ana Rosa Rodriguez was born without an arm because of a botched abortion. Vujicic, a husband, a father, an evangelist, a motivational speaker, head of the non-profit organization Life Without Limbs and author, writes in his book Limitless Devotions for a Ridiculously Good Life, "Researchers found that many who successfully deal with physical adversity actually grow in positive ways, including these:

* They realize they are stronger than they thought, and they tend to recover more quickly from future challenges.
* They discover who truly cares about them, and those relationships grow stronger.
* They put greater value on each day and on the good things in their lives.
* They become stronger spiritually."

Rafael Damani Fowler and I enjoy listening to CDs which were invented by the Japanese. Gospel singer Andrea Helms says in her song "Changed" on the CD Ultimate Gospel vol. 2 Women of Gospel Spirit Rising that she was not supposed to be born. She says about the time before she was born, "The doctors said that I would never walk that I would never talk that I would be nothing ... but I was born healthy." Doctors and other medical professionals know a lot, but they are not all-knowing like God. Doctors and others were not able to tell me that my son, Rafael, has autism, but it's okay. Rafael is glad to be alive instead of aborted.

Un dicho (a proverb) says, "No hay tiempo como el presente ("There is no time like the present.") Now is a good time to pass immigration reform not like the wicked US Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 but a law that welcomes people, doesn't burden them financially and treats them with equality.

Anything Is Possible

In Mark chapter 9 of the Bible the story of a father who had a son with a dumb spirit that no one could cure is recorded. The father had sought various people to cure his son including Jesus Christ. Mark 9:23 Amplified Bible says, "And Jesus said, [You say to Me], If You can do anything? [Why,] all things can be (are possible) to him who believes!"

Jesus Christ was willing to heal his son, and He healed him.

China has a one child policy with forced abortions and forced sterilizations that's been going on since 1979. A Malagasy African proverb says, "Let not your love be like a torrent: heavy at first but swiftly abating." People have been trying to get rid of this policy and other human rights violations in China for a long time, and some still expect to see human rights flourishing in China.

"Anything is possible in this world," said Human Rights Activist Chen Guangcheng about such changes in China (Rosie Gray, BuzzFeed, "Chen Guangcheng: Chinese Government “In A State Of Madness,” May 14, 2013.)

Tejas is the name the Spanish gave to what later became the US state of Texas. Tejas is based on a Native American word for friend.

A good friend prays for people in positions of power to do good. 1 Timothy 2:1-4 Amplified Bible says, "First of all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men, For kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way. For such [praying] is good and right, and [it is] pleasing and acceptable to God our Savior, Who wishes all men to be saved and [increasingly] to perceive and recognize and discern and know precisely and correctly the [divine] Truth."

Pray for US President Barak Obama and Chinese President Xi Jinping as they meet today and tomorrow in California.

Share your prayers. Write to:

Marital Sexual Show And Tell

Ethiopia is sometimes called the land of eternal spring. Even though Ethiopia has the hottest place on earth most of the country has springtime temperatures throughout the year. Springtime is the beginning of new life. Each one of us starts out life in the winter of a propensity to do wrong. Everyone needs the spring of a new life. By receiving God the Son Jesus Christ as your Savior from sin and the Lord of your life, you also receive a new life. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Amplified Bible says, "Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!"

Nigeria's constitution says part of the duty of a citizen is to "make positive and useful contributions to the advancement, progress and well-being of the community where he resides." Wherever creyentes (believers) live, we have a new life to do likewise. Having and doing are not always the same thing.

Some children rarely see their parents kiss, hug and display other signs of affection, friendship and marital sexual relations.

Most parents want their children who are called to marriage to have a good marriage. Yet some parents are not modeling a good marriage. A Chinese proverb says, "Binding your feet to prevent your own progress." A lack of married parental sexual show and tell allows someone else to show and tell children what sexual relations should be.

It's spiritual adultery not to have a loving, joyful, passionate marriage. Hebrews 13:4 Amplified Bible says, "Let marriage be held in honor (esteemed worthy, precious, of great price, and especially dear) in all things. And thus let the marriage bed be undefiled (kept undishonored); for God will judge and punish the unchaste [all guilty of sexual vice] and adulterous."

Sometimes people allow their marriages to become mediocre because they put too much energy into economic pursuits. Actor Denzel Washington has been married to Pauletta Washington for more than 30 years. The Washingtons are Christians. Denzel Washington says, "Acting is just a way of making a living, the family is life."

Hot and Salty

The Danakil Plain in Ethiopia is the hottest place on earth and is filled with salt. Matthew 5:13 Amplified Bible says about creyentes (believers), "You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men."

One of the definitions for salt in Webster's New World Dictionary is "any person or persons regarded as the finest." Creyentes, God's finest, are called to live vigorously in relationships filled with love. Love starts with God and flows to self and to family. Love doesn't stop there. Love flows to strangers.

Why should God's finest get involved in stopping China's one-child policy with forced abortion and forced sterilization? Why should creyentes get involved in closing the business of abortionists Douglas Karpen and LeRoy Carhart who have killed babies and women? Why should creyentes push for religious freedom in Nigeria, Iran and other places globally? Why should creyentes help people to receive a relationship with God and to improve relationships like marriage, parenting, friendships, etc? God says to do these types of things. We serve a God who does way more than the minimum and expects from creyentes way more than the minimum. Matthew 22:36-40 Amplified Bible says, "Teacher, which kind of commandment is great and important (the principal kind) in the Law? [Some commandments are light—which are heavy?] And He replied to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind (intellect). This is the great (most important, principal) and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself. These two commandments sum up and upon them depend all the Law and the Prophets."

We cannot say that we love God without also loving a lot of people in a large way. 1 John 5:3 Amplified Bible says, "For the [true] love of God is this: that we do His commands [keep His ordinances and are mindful of His precepts and teaching]. And these orders of His are not irksome (burdensome, oppressive, or grievous)."

We can love large because God makes creyentes to be hot and salty living love stories. God lives inside of creyentes constantly cultivating us to make our love story even better. Please share your love story. Write to:

A Long Time Coming

John 4:48-53 English Standard Version Bible says, "So Jesus said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders you will not believe.” The official said to him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.” Jesus said to him, “Go; your son will live.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and went on his way. As he was going down, his servants met him and told him that his son was recovering. So he asked them the hour when he began to get better, and they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.” The father knew that was the hour when Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live.” And he himself believed, and all his household."

God is still doing spectacular miracles like the one in John 4:48-53 that encourage belief in Him. Gospel Singer DeWayne Woods got HIV. God got rid of it.

If God doesn't speedily answer your prayers for healing from a disease, a dying relationship or something else, will you endure (keep on trusting Him and living led by God the Holy Ghost)?

One of the definitions of "immortal" in Webster's New World Dictionary is "enduring." Blue (lan) is a color associated with immortality in China.

All creyentes (believers) are going to heaven (home). Some creyentes are not associated with enduring adversity along the journey (home).

A Tunisian expression for a weak person is, "Hit him with a bean, he will break."

No matter how strong we think we are, we all have areas of weaknesses and trust issues that show their brokenness.

Instead of being mad, disappointed, resentful or something else negative when you don't get a John 4:48-53 response to prayers, be thankful. God knows best what we need. Sometimes is takes a while to turn a mess into a miracle.

Have you experienced a 20-years-or-more healing?

A Breath of Fresh Air

More than 30 men employed by the Cleveland Waterworks Company were at work in a tunnel about 250 feet below Lake Erie on July 15, 1916, when an explosion ripped through the area trapping the men in the tunnel and filling the air with deadly gases. Rescue workers arrived immediately, but the dense smoke prevented them from entering the tunnel. They didn't know from who to get help.

Inspiration came when someone remembered Garrett Morgan. Morgan had won a grand prize at a New York Safety and Sanitation Fair for a gas mask he invented.

Using Morgan's gas mask, the workers were freed from the tunnel.

News of the rescue traveled. Fire departments across America wanted Morgan's gas mask. Orders poured in until people found out that Morgan was black. Then business dropped off.

Christian Minister and Civil Rights Leader Martin Luther King, Jr., who was assassinated April 4th, 45 years ago, said in his I Have a Dream speech, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."

Proverbios 18:16 Biblia Bilingue Version Reina-Valera 1960 dice, "La dadiva del hombre le ensancha el camino y le lleva delante de los grandes." Proverbs 18:16 Bilingual Bible New King James Version says, "A man's gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men."

In 1917 America entered World War I. Thousands of American soldiers used Morgan's gas mask to protect themselves from the enemy's deadly chlorine gas.

People probably faced fear when the Cleveland tunnel explosion happened and no way appeared to rescue those trapped. Morgan probably faced fear when business for his gas mask dropped when people found out that he was black. Many people have faced fear in the midst of crises and other difficult situations.

A Chinese proverb says, "Use incidents from the past as lessons for the future." Crisis need not stop commitment to self and social development. With courage and creativity Morgan didn't stop when crisis came into his life, and neither do you have to. He kept on perfecting his gas mask, developed other inventions and founded the Cleveland Call newspaper to improve media coverage of African Americans.

Creyentes (believers) have the power of the Creator of the Universe living inside of us. Be confidant in crisis. God will accomplish all His will. Psalm 115:2-3 Amplified Bible says, "Why should the nations say, Where is now their God? But our God is in heaven; He does whatever He pleases." What is something that please God? -- that good overcome evil.

Silent Rapes

I wrote in my January 13, 2013, article "Thoughts About Abortion," "Even in the hard cases abortion can be avoided. Rapists can be male or female."

Adolescent boys have been seduced by adult women with children resulting from these sexual unions. Not only should these children not be aborted because these children are human, also the existence of these children can be used as evidence of rape/incest.

On a social and personal level we do not like to discuss certain issues because they are surrounded by pecados (sins).

Some men have been date raped by their male boyfriends, and the reason they don't want to tell their wife is, "What are they doing with boyfriends in the first place?"

Leviticus 18:22 English Standard Version Bible says, "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination." Proverbs 5:18-19 Contemporary English Version Bible says, "Be happy with the wife you married when you were young. She is beautiful and graceful, just like a deer; you should be attracted to her and stay deeply in love." Compared to God, who is eternal without beginning or end of life, we are all young.

God does not hate people who have same-sex sexual relations, same-sex romantic relationships, abortions, incestuous relationships, are rapists and other types of sexual/adulterous sins or any type of sin. God wants people to stop sinning and to start loving God, themselves and other people. Pecados (sins) are not sexy and sweet; pecados hurt and harm people.

Proverbs 28:13 Amplified Bible says, "He who covers his transgressions will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes his sins will obtain mercy."

First tell God about your sins, and allow Him to heal you and to restore you to a right relationship with God and people. Also, allow God to lead you to the people you need to confess your sins to. James 5:16 Amplified Bible says, "Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working]."

Are you involved in secret sins? Don't let Satan fool you with fear and other tactics. "Fear is a disease that eats away at logic and makes man inhuman," said Marian Anderson, a singer and civil rights advocate. People experience consequences from our sins; they may or may not know the source of problems. Tell the truth, so that the situation can be transformed for good for you and for others.

In Chinese culture the number 8 is associated with prosperity. What can be more prosperous than lives filled with love?

Love wins when rape, incest, adultery, abortion and other sins end.

Keep Out?

Solomon, preacher, poet and king, wrote in Ecclesiastes 1:9 Complete Jewish Bible, "What has been is what will be, what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun."

Comedian Dave Chappelle, a nonbeliever in God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ and God the Holy Ghost, recently made a Solomon-like observation. "Remarking on the feat of building the Great Wall of China, he marveled, tongue in cheek, "I didn't know they had Mexicans" (The New York Times, April 2, 2013, "Comedian And Jokes Return, Tweaked.") Efforts to keep out foreigners, war and poverty are continual themes in human history.

Defense is necessary. So are major peace offensives.

John Maxwell, author, speaker, entrepreneur, has a daily email, A Minute with Maxwell, with a thought word for the day. Today's thought word is "maximizer."

Fe (faith) comes by hearing. Let's maximize the numbers of people who hear about God and enter into relationships with Dios (God) and creyentes (believers).

Of course some people will not receive Jesus Christ. Some also will not form close relationships with us. An Egyptian saying for a person who is unsuccessful at becoming intimate with another person is, "A thousand raps at the door, but no salute or invitation from within."

The Apostle Paul teaches us to examine ourselves to see our spiritual state; we may find that we have some barriers to forming good relationships that need to be broken. Paul also encourages us to go out of our way to relate well, not in a way that violates Biblical principles but rather shows Biblical principles lived beautifully. 1 Corinthians 9:20-23 the Message Bible says, "Even though I am free of the demands and expectations of everyone, I have voluntarily become a servant to any and all in order to reach a wide range of people: religious, nonreligious, meticulous moralists, loose-living immoralists, the defeated, the demoralized—whoever. I didn’t take on their way of life. I kept my bearings in Christ—but I entered their world and tried to experience things from their point of view. I’ve become just about every sort of servant there is in my attempts to lead those I meet into a God-saved life. I did all this because of the Message. I didn’t just want to talk about it; I wanted to be in on it!"

Please share some major peace offensives.

God Confidence

Numbers 13:3-15 New Living Translation Bible says, "So Moses did as the Lord commanded him. He sent out twelve men, all tribal leaders of Israel, from their camp in the wilderness of Paran. These were the tribes and the names of their leaders:
Tribe        Leader
Reuben    Shammua son of Zaccur
Simeon    Shaphat son of Hori
Judah       Caleb son of Jephunneh
Issachar    Igal son of Joseph
Ephraim    Hoshea son of Nun
Benjamin   Palti son of Raphu
Zebulun    Gaddiel son of Sodi
Manasseh son of Joseph    Gaddi son of Susi
Dan        Ammiel son of Gemalli
Asher        Sethur son of Michael
Naphtali    Nahbi son of Vophsi
Gad        Geuel son of Maki

A Chinese proverb says, "To plug the ears while stealing the bell;" it means "to deceive oneself." It is a deception to believe that God favors people based on race, ethnicity or some physical characteristic. God is no respecter of persons. Benjamin Banneker, an African-American inventor, surveyor, mathematician and astronomer during a time when African-American slavery was legal in the United States, said, "The color of the skin is in no way connected with strength of the mind or intellectual powers." Romans 2:28-29 Complete Jewish Bible says, "For the real Jew is not merely Jewish outwardly: true circumcision is not only external and physical. On the contrary, the real Jew is one inwardly; and true circumcision is of the heart, spiritual not literal; so that his praise comes not from other people but from God."

Shammua, Shaphat, Igal, Palti, Gaddiel, Gaddi, Ammiel, Sethur, Nahbi and Geuel were deceived. They believed in the inferiority of the Jews to the Canaanites. Numbers 13:31-33 Amplified Bible says, "But his fellow scouts said, We are not able to go up against the people [of Canaan], for they are stronger than we are. So they brought the Israelites an evil report of the land which they had scouted out, saying, The land through which we went to spy it out is a land that devours its inhabitants. And all the people that we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the Nephilim [or giants], the sons of Anak, who come from the giants; and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight."

The people of God are reyes y reinas (kings and queens.) Jesus Christ is El Rey de Reyes (The King of Kings.) While Jesus died for us when we were sinners, God doesn't view us as sinners anymore. When God looks at us, He sees Jesus Christ, the Sinless One, the Perfect One. Low self-esteem is a sin. Not doing what God tells us to do is a sin even if it seems impossible.

Jesus died a horrible death on a Friday more than 2,000, years ago and got up from the dead on a Sunday, not so we would live in fear, low self-esteem, hatred or without unity among believers.

The people of God are called to do greater things than Jesus Christ did in His earthly ministry. Jesus Christ says in John 14:11-12 Complete Jewish Bible, "Trust me, that I am united with the Father, and the Father united with me. But if you can’t, then trust because of the works themselves. Yes, indeed! I tell you that whoever trusts in me will also do the works I do! Indeed, he will do greater ones, because I am going to the Father."

What are some trust issues you have seen in the Church?

La Familia

What would you do for love? Would you go to prison? Calvin Fairbank and Delia Webster were teachers and abolitionists who helped Lewis Hayden, Hayden's wife, Harriet, and the Hayden's son escape from slavery.

The Hayden's made it safely from Kentucky to Ohio then to Canada. Fairbank and Webster were arrested and charged with slave stealing. Galatians 5:13-14 Amplified Bible says, "For you, brethren, were [indeed] called to freedom; only [do not let your] freedom be an incentive to your flesh and an opportunity or excuse [for selfishness], but through love you should serve one another. For the whole Law [concerning human relationships] is complied with in the one precept, You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself."

Calvin Fairbank, who was also a minister, agreed to plead guilty if Delia Webster was allowed to  go free. Webster was freed. Fairbank was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Black people look different from white people. The Haydens, Fairbank and Webster prove difference can be dynamic instead of a reason for hatred and abuse.

Rafael, my son who has autism, and I live in Virginia which is a state next to the state of Maryland. Even though slavery has been abolished in the United States, and Rafael, I and other African Americans enjoy our freedom, racial problems still exist in America along with conflict among all kinds of people. In Frederick, Maryland, a young man, Robert Ethan Saylor, was killed in a movie theater in January 2013 because people didn't understand someone with Down Syndrome.

God made each person different. No two people not even twins and other multiples have the same finger prints, eye prints or scent. God made us different on purpose. God even made some people with disabilities. Exodus 4:11 Contemporary English Version Bible says, "But the Lord answered, “Who makes people able to speak or makes them deaf or unable to speak? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Don’t you know that I am the one who does these things?"

Yellow (huang) was a color reserved for the Chinese Emperor and members of the imperial family. The emperor had to grant permission for other people to wear it.

Partiality puts up barriers to treating people right. James, a brother of Jesus Christ and an apostle, writes in the book of James Complete Jewish Bible, "My brothers, practice the faith of our Lord Yeshua, the glorious Messiah, without showing favoritism. Suppose a man comes into your synagogue wearing gold rings and fancy clothes, and also a poor man comes in dressed in rags. If you show more respect to the man wearing the fancy clothes and say to him, “Have this good seat here,” while to the poor man you say, “You, stand over there,” or, “Sit down on the floor by my feet,” then aren’t you creating distinctions among yourselves, and haven’t you made yourselves into judges with evil motives?"

Welcome and accept whoever wants to receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and to join la familia de Dios (the family of God) this Good Friday or any other day. La familia helps each other.

Lewis Hayden raised $650.00 which through a chain of other players helped free Calvin Fairbank from prison within four years.

Sinners and Still Valuable

Out on an errand for her mother Elsie, a young teenager, was gang raped in the lobby of her grandmother's apartment building in the Czech Republic. The damage from the rape caused a doctor to diagnose that Elsie would never bear children, but she did.

Parenthood didn't bring the pleasure it should have. Elsie lost one child to social services, and she married a man not for love but to help her financially support her daughter, Sylvia. Her husband was unholy and helped to trap Elsie in a life of legal prostitution in the Netherlands.

A bad beginning in life does not guarantee a bad ending.

In the midst of prostitution love found Elsie. A taxi driver, who was a former criminal, called a favor and some friends to secure Elsie's freedom from her pimp. Then he married her for love.

More love found Elsie in Sylvia's school yard. A woman introduced Elsie to Scarlet Cord, who eventually helped Elsie to apply to school and introduced Elsie to the true, living and loving God.

Elsie's story is from Naomi Zacharias' book The Scent of Water Grace For Every Kind of Broken. Naomi Zacharias is the director of Wellspring International. Scarlet Cord is one of the projects Wellspring International supports.

Today is a day to receive and to give love. Today is Maundy Thursday. Joe Carter, editor for The Gospel Coalition, in his March 25, 2013, article "9 Things You Should Know About Holy Week," writes, "Maundy Thursday is the day before Good Friday. The term "Maundy" is derived from the Latin word mandatum (commandment). The term refers to the commandment given by Jesus at the Last Supper: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another." (John 13:34)."

Did Elsie get to have a wedding with her taxi driver? Red (hong) is the color of celebration at weddings and birthdays in China. I hope she had una boda maravillosa (a wonderful wedding).

Some people may think that Elsie doesn't deserve love because she was a prostitute. Sojourner Truth was a slave who became a servant of Jesus Christ. Truth said, "You say women need to be helped into carriages and lifted over ditches. Nobody's ever helped me into a carriage or over a mud puddle. And ain't I a woman?"

Female and male we are all sinners and still valuable to God. Romans 5:7-8 Amplified Bible says, "Now it is an extraordinary thing for one to give his life even for an upright man, though perhaps for a noble and lovable and generous benefactor someone might even dare to die. But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us."

The Apostle John writes in 1 John 4:11 Complete Jewish Bible, "Beloved friends, if this is how God loved us, we likewise ought to love one another."

Please share stories of disciples loving others the way Jesus loves us.

Beautiful Butts

More than 1.3 billion people live in China, the world's most populous nation. Most belong to the Han ethnic group. The rest belong to more than 50 ethnic groups. Likewise a variety of sexual practices exists.

A firm, full butt may inspire a spouse to squeeze and to kiss it. Some husbands and wives may also enjoy licking between the butt cheeks, inserting their tongue or finger into their spouses butt hole, using anal toys and/or anal intercourse.

Not all spouses enjoy the sexuality of the butt. Just because a husband or wife does not want to participate in a certain sexual activity does not mean he or she is sexually repressed or rejecting his or her spouse. Don't try to force a spouse to participate in sexual activity that is contrary to his or her faith. Romans 14:23 Amplified Bible says, "But the man who has doubts (misgivings, an uneasy conscience) about eating, and then eats [perhaps because of you], stands condemned [before God], because he is not true to his convictions and he does not act from faith. For whatever does not originate and proceed from faith is sin [whatever is done without a conviction of its approval by God is sinful]."

Exalta a la roca de nuestra salvación. Charla con Jesús. (Exalt the rock of our salvation. Chat with Jesus.) Ask God to change your spouse's mind about certain sexual practices.

Even when having spousal sex arguments, "You can have peace in the middle of a storm when you know joy is coming in the morning time" (song "God's Up To Something Good" from the album Next Now by Hart Ramsey & The NCC Family Choir featuring John P. Kee and Ms. Ty Scott.)

Conflict can be creative. Patricia Bath, MD, pioneered the worldwide discipline of community ophthalmology, a volunteer-based program to bring necessary eye care to under served populations, co-founded the American Institute for the Prevention of Blindness and secured four patents in the United States. Many of Bath's accomplishments came out of conflict.

What joy and accomplishment has come from sexual conflict?

May your marriage have jiu (long life.)

No Ordinary Love

Christopher ("Christ-bearer") Yuan writes in his book, Out Of A Far Country, co-authored with his mother, Angela Yuan, "As I continued to read the Bible, I came across Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 (NASB)--passages normally used to condemn gays and lesbians to a fiery fate. "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination." But I realized that God didn't call lesbians and gay men abominations He called it an abomination. What God condemned was the act, not the person. For so long, I had gotten the message from the Christian protestors at gay-pride parades that the God of the Bible hated people like me, because we were abominations. But after reading these passages, I saw that God didn't hate me; nor was he condemning me to an inescapable destiny of torment. But rather, it was the sex he condemned, and yet he still wanted an intimate relationship with me."

Not only does God want an intimate relationship with lesbians and gay men, He wants an intimate relationship with everyone who will receive God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ and God the Holy Ghost (1 X 1 X 1 = 1). God wants Colossians 1:4 Amplified Bible to be true of all believers (saints): "For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus [the leaning of your entire human personality on Him in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness] and of the love which you [have and show] for all the saints (God’s consecrated ones)."

Avoid segregating the sexes. The more each us knows the truth about sexuality, the more we know about God, who is the Truth. God on purpose made people male and female to show qualities God possesses. Genesis 1:27 Nueva Traducción Viviente dice, "Así que Dios creó a los seres humanos a su propia imagen. A imagen de Dios los creó; hombre y mujer los creó." Genesis 1:27 English Standard Version says, "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them."

Instead of hiding sexuality, celebrate it in holiness. Colossians 1:10-11 Amplified Bible is a prayer to God for both singles and married people: "That you may walk (live and conduct yourselves) in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him and desiring to please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing and increasing in and by the knowledge of God [with fuller, deeper, and clearer insight, acquaintance, and recognition]. [We pray] that you may be invigorated and strengthened with all power according to the might of His glory, [to exercise] every kind of endurance and patience (perseverance and forbearance) with joy."

Some singles do not persevere in singleness. A proverb from Ethiopia and Kenya says, "Hasty marriages bring hasty divorces." Enjoy lots of relationships with both men and women. Spending lots of time together is a good way to learn to love people in the way they really liked to be loved. Single or married God uses relationships to remove selfishness from us.

Bishop T.D. Jakes says in his sermon, "Love Story," "Marriage does not work until a man dies. There's a wild nature in him that has to die, and every now and then it kicks up. And you got to kill it again. And if you don't kill it, it will destroy what you got." Jakes goes on to say in "Love Story," "Christ gave Himself. Let the men say, 'Give it up.'"

Wives too have to give it up in order to love their husbands the way their husbands want to be loved. More men than women enjoy strippers. Instead of sexual immorality, why not put together a strip tease for your husband only with props particular to his tastes and perhaps ben wa, or Oriental love balls, into your vagina to stimulate you for what's coming?

What are some out-of-the-ordinary things you have done for love?

Sexual Curiosity and Forgiveness

Sometimes we can enjoy forbidden sex, unforgiveness or something else instead of enjoying an intimate relationship with God and the overflow of this relationship with God, things like sexuality within Biblical boundaries, peace of mind and other ways of God.

God fashioned the color of our skin. What God designed is good. Savor dark chocolate; gaze on the lightest brightness; or be memorized by a shade somewhere in the middle. God gave us eyes to enjoy much varied beauty.

As a girl in the early years of elementary school I wondered if the penises of black, Latino and white boys differed. So I conducted an experiment with naked boys.

A challenge exists to look but not to leap into partner-sex outside of marriage. Sadly, sometimes we leap. Gladly believers have God living on the inside giving us the power to find our way back to safe and enjoyable sexuality and spiritual wholeness. Watchman Nee writes in his book Sit Walk Stand The Process of Christian Maturity, "An engineer living in a large city in the West left his homeland for the Far East. He was away for two or three years, and during his absence his wife was unfaithful to him and went off with one of his best friends. On his return home he found he had lost his wife, his two children and his best friend. At the close of a meeting which I was addressing, this grief-stricken man unburdened himself to me. "Day and night for two solid years my heart has been full of hatred," he said. "I am a Christian, and I know I ought to forgive my wife and my friend, but though I try and try to forgive them, I simply cannot. Every day I resolve to love them, and every day I fail. What can I do about it?"

"Do nothing at all," I replied.

"What do you mean?" he asked, startled. "Am I to continue to hate them?"

So I explained, "The solution of your problem lies here, that when the Lord Jesus died on the cross, He not only bore your sins away, but He bore you away too. When He was crucified, your old man was crucified in Him, so that that unforgiving 'you,' who simply cannot love those who have wronged you, has been taken right out of the way in His death. God has dealt with the whole situation in the cross, and there is nothing left for you to deal with. Just say to Him, 'Lord, I cannot love, and I give up trying, but I count on Thy perfect love. I cannot forgive, but I trust Thee to forgive instead of me, and to do so henceforth in me."

What sins are you enjoying and/or suffering that need to turned over to God?

No temere. Don't be afraid to turn your sins over to God. Some sins are fun for a season, but all sin brings pain and destruction that becomes obvious sooner or later. Contrary to any deception you may believe, God ways are the most enjoyable way of living, and God has the power to live out His ways through you.

El Es Indispensable

As believers we are kings and queens. The hearts of kings and queens are being constantly attacked. Gospel singer Debra Ashley sings on her album New Birth in the song "Do It Afraid:"
"Have you ever had a desire in your heart?
A desire so very strong you know it's from God.
Then the enemy has come your way.
Now your confidence is gone.
Well don't give up
Just trust in God.
And do it afraid."

No matter what our life looks like in the past and present, no matter if we feel fear, what God has put in our hearts will be accomplished. King David had enemies all around him. Yet he committed himself to trusting in God and to keeping on doing what God called him to do day in and day out. King David writes in Psalm 21:7 Amplified Bible, "For the king trusts, relies on, and is confident in the Lord, and through the mercy and steadfast love of the Most High he will never be moved." He says in Psalm 21:2, "You have given him his heart’s desire and have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah [pause, and think of that]!"

Sometimes we feel fear because the desires of our hearts do not always appear immediately, and/or they may not come in the way we imagined. Mary J. Blige sings in her song "Not Gon' Cry," about a woman who was a lover, mother and business partner dumped by her lover and business partner. She regrets ever getting into the relationship and laments, "11 years of sacrifice and you can leave me at the drop of a dime."

Every relationship is not for life. We have some things to give, receive and learn, and then move on. The end of a relationship does not mean the end of our heart's desires.

David didn't focus on his enemies trying to derail his heart's desires or on negative internal messages saying various versions of, "I can't do this." Just like Joshua had the Spirit of God living inside him (Numbers 27:18,) so did David; David had a relationship with God and focused on God. Like David we need to trust in God's abilities instead of our abilities to fix our problems and to fulfill our heart's desires. Is any problem to hard for God to solve?

Watchman Nee writes in his book The Normal Christian Life, "We are sinners, not because of ourselves but because of Adam. It is not because I individually have sinned that I am a sinner, but because I was in Adam when he sinned. Because by birth I come of Adam, therefore I am a part of him. What is more, I can do nothing to alter this. I cannot, by improving my behavior, make myself other than a part of Adam, and so a sinner....Unless we can change our parentage there is no deliverance for us."

Changing our parentage is to receive a relationship with God the Father, God the Son Jesus Christ and God the Holy Ghost. With God as our Parent we can work the principles of the Bible and expect success because God is the one guaranteeing the success. Relying on our abilities inspires fear because we are aware of some of our inabilities. But with God as our Parent we can do it afraid and expect God to increase our courage and to give us the victory of having our heart's desires fulfilled. God never fails; El es indispensable y incomparable. Is God on your side?

Two and More Maasai Warriors Needed

Math and science can seen so challenging to pursue for various reasons. One reason is fear. Lose the fear. We need more Bible-believing, Bible living mathematicians and scientists.

God designed the vagina. Many husbands think constantly about this portal to paradise and can hardly wait to enter it.

Many wives welcome their husbands into their portal of paradise frequently, but are far less enthusiastic for medical instruments to be in their vaginas. A vaginal probe can determine a baby's heartbeat beginning with six weeks of pregnancy. Will someone please invent external methods of measuring a young baby's life in the womb?

Let's remove all masks covering truth and love. Both women and babies are human and deserving of respect. Ephesians 4:14-15 Amplified Bible says, "So then, we may no longer be children, tossed [like ships] to and fro between chance gusts of teaching and wavering with every changing wind of doctrine, [the prey of] the cunning and cleverness of unscrupulous men, [gamblers engaged] in every shifting form of trickery in inventing errors to mislead. Rather, let our lives lovingly express truth [in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly]. Enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head, [even] Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One)."

Sometimes students do not pursue math and science because of the fear of failure. Sometimes mathematicians and scientists do not perfect their work because of a fear of failure. Joyce Meyer writes in her article "Overcoming Fear with Faith How to Shed the Layers of Fear That Weigh Us Down" in the March/April 2013 magazine Enjoying Everyday Life, "I remember so many times in my life when I was so afraid of failing, but I would take a step of faith anyway. There were times when things worked out and times when they didn't. When that happens to you, you need to shake it off and move forward. Don't let the fear of making a mistake stop you.

We will experience failures in life, but nobody has to be a failure. Failing at something doesn't make you a failure. Failure comes when you quit trying." Inventor Thomas Edison said, "I have not failed. I've just  found 10,000 ways that won't work."

Yes, we can remove all obstacles to evil. Abel Zavala sings in his song "Unanimes" on his album Jesus mi fiel amigo:

"Victoria hay en El
Mi Cristo derroto
Las huestes del mal
Victoria cantare
Mi libertad pago
Gritare!
Celebrare ante el rey."

Gunpowder was invented in China. We need some new ammunition to defeat the followers of evil. Some followers of evil want to pit mothers against their babies and use deceptive arguments to do so.

Believers already have victory in God the Son Jesus Christ. We have already defeated the enemy and his followers. We also have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16 Amplified Bible says, "For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart."

The ammunition to detect a baby's life at the earliest stages of development with respect to their mothers is already in the mind of Christ. Since believers have the mind of Christ, the ammunition is already in our mind. It just needs to be extracted.

Mathematicians, scientists and all believers need to be masters in spiritual warfare. Satan doesn't want us to use our Christ mind; he want us to use reprobate and carnal thinking, so that his evil ways can reign. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 English Standard Version Bible says, "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ."

Abortion, the taking of the lives of boys and girls, will end when multiple people play their part in ending this evil. A Maasai of East Africa riddle asks:

"Who has more courage than a Maasai warrior?

Answer: "Two Maasai warriors."

Only One is All Good

"And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone," (Mark 10:18 English Standard Version Bible.)

Yet we often except near perfection in people we marry, in leaders and in others. Believers are saints, and saints sometimes sin. Jesus Christ taught us to ask Him for forgiveness daily. Luke 11:2-4 the Message Bible says, "So he said, “When you pray, say,

Father,
Reveal who you are.
Set the world right.
Keep us alive with three square meals.
Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others.
Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil.”"

Harriet Tubman was called Moses after the Biblical Moses because she led hundreds of African Americans out of slavery through trips on the Underground Railroad, not a train but a network of people who hid and helped slaves escape slavery and live in freedom. Large rewards were offered for Harriet Tubman's capture, but with God on her side she was never caught, and she never lost a passenger.

Harriet also married, John Tubman. John was a black man who was born free, but he treated Harriet as if she were his slave and said that if Harriet tried to escape slavery he would tell her slave master!

Harriet hid her plans to escape slavery from her husband. In 1849 traveling through the Underground Railroad, following the North Star, Harriet escaped from slavery on the Brodas plantation in Eastern Shore Maryland. Harriet said, "I looked at my hands to see if I was the same person now that I was free." She later said, "There was such glory over everything; the sun came like gold through the trees and over the fields, and I felt like I was in heaven."

Harriet could have stayed in "heaven," but she decided to go back to slave-states repeatedly to rescue slaves including her children, her brothers (she had 11 siblings) and their families, her elderly parents (Harriet Green and Benjamin Ross) and many others.

Her husband, John Tubman was a hard-hearted man. On one trip when Harriet came back to the Brodas plantation, her husband refused to come to a non-slave state. Harriet didn't waste the trip, she rescued some slaves. John Tubman married another woman.

Some of us are married to people we should have never married, or in relationships that we should have never entered or in other difficult relationships. 1 Corinthians 7:12-16 Complete Jewish Bible says, "To the rest I say — I, not the Lord: if any brother has a wife who is not a believer, and she is satisfied to go on living with him, he should not leave her. Also, if any woman has an unbelieving husband who is satisfied to go on living with her, she is not to leave him. For the unbelieving husband has been set aside for God by the wife, and the unbelieving wife has been set aside for God by the brother — otherwise your children would be “unclean,” but as it is, they are set aside for God. But if the unbelieving spouse separates himself, let him be separated. In circumstances like these, the brother or sister is not enslaved — God has called you to a life of peace. For how do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?"

When her marriage failed, Harriet kept on living and doing good. Harriet served in the Civil War on the side of the Union as a scout, spy and nurse. She was the first woman in U.S. military history to lead an armed expedition. In the Combahee River Raid Harriet led a group of mostly black soldiers in an audacious escape that liberated more than 750 enslaved persons. Movie material? Proverbs-style women are warriors. Read my article "Warrior Women,"

Being a warrior does not mean that a woman lacks nurturing capacity. After the Civil War Harriet went to live on a small farm in Auburn, New York. She eventually turned her home into a home for poor and elderly African Americans.

Harriet was also active in the women's movement. She worked with women like Susan B. Anthony to fight for women's right to vote.

Dr. Derek Grier says in his Ministry Minute "Strong Marriage," "We really have no idea how selfish and how self-centered we are until we commit to spend the rest of our lives loving and making decisions with another person." Read my article "Divorced = Eliminated from the Race?"

Just because John Tubman had no sense to appreciate the woman he had, didn't mean others didn't recognize Harriet's value. Abolitionist John Brown called her, "General Tubman." Solider Nelson Davis and Harriet Tubman married in 1869.

What other warrior women are like Harriet Tubman?

Douglas Brinkley writes in The Washington Post March 1, 2013, article "What would Parks do? Honor Tubman," "What would have truly perturbed her was that Obama has yet to issue an executive order to create a national monument for Harriet Tubman. The paperwork is ready; it just needs the president's signature. . . . Call or write the White House and urge the president to pick up his pen on behalf of history."
